Psycho-oncological support
is a very important topic for me in my work with those affected and their relatives.
The term “psycho-oncological” comes from the terms psychology and oncology and describes the very great psychological stress that results from cancer.
A cancer diagnosis often comes completely unexpectedly for both the affected person and their relatives and initially means a great shock, combined with deep fears and worries.
Often, immediately after the diagnosis, a physically very strenuous treatment with chemotherapy and/or serious operations follows – but psychological care of the patients usually does not find any room here.
With my work – in addition to conventional medical treatment – I would like to offer support in the processing of cancer and the treatments that are not only physically but also psychologically highly stressful.
For me, this means accompanying the patient in a helpful, supportive and understanding way and also supporting his relatives.
In my work with cancer patients, I have also made the experience that the disease is often also based on a deep-seated psychological cause.
In my experience, finding and working on this cause together with the patient plays an important role in overcoming the disease.
In addition to this purely conversation-oriented joint work
I have also made the experience that accompanying energetic treatments (Reiki)
can noticeably improve the physical and mental well-being of the person concerned and represent a useful addition to medical treatment.
The aim of my work is to give patients the courage to face life and strength.
